Birth Doula

Labour & birth can be an amazing & joyous experience but can be overwhelming as well.  It can be difficult for parents, especially first time parents, to know what to do and when to do it.  A Birth Doula “mothers the mother” providing emotional, physical and informational support before, during and after the birth.  Doulas place emphasis on human, natural support and care for new mothers.  Doulas don’t replace medical staff, family members or the father of the child.  What they do is fill in the gaps, where they exist & support the whole family.  From the first sign of contractions to the on-set of breastfeeding, a Birth Doula provides constant care.
